Rooted in Jaipur, Designed for the World: Manira Exports Brings Indian Artistry to Premiere Vision Paris

By K. Gopalakrishnan

At Premiere Vision Paris, one of the world’s most influential sourcing and fashion platforms, Indian craftsmanship found a confident and contemporary voice through Manira Exports. Led by its young CEO Vansh Jain, the family-run enterprise showcased how deep-rooted Indian embroidery traditions can seamlessly align with the expectations of global luxury brands. Speaking at the show, Jain shared Manira Exports’ journey—from its artisanal beginnings in Jaipur to its growing recognition across international markets—while outlining a vision that places design, education, and ethical manufacturing at the core of its global ambitions.

A Family-Run Enterprise Built on Design

Manira Exports is a family-founded venture, run by Vansh Jain along with his sister and mother. Design lies at the heart of the company’s DNA. Jain’s mother, a designer with decades of experience, has played a pivotal role in shaping the creative direction of the business. Alongside this export-focused venture, the family also runs an Indian ethnic wear label, House of Amuse, which has long worked with embroidery, hand painting, and artisanal craftsmanship.

It was this deep engagement with embroidery that led to the birth of Manira Exports around five years ago. The idea was simple yet ambitious: to take Indian embroidery beyond domestic ethnic wear and scale it for global ateliers and luxury brands. With Paris being the epicentre of global fashion, showcasing at Premiere Vision was a natural step in this journey.

Jaipur Craftsmanship, Mumbai Design Interface

Manira Exports’ headquarters and production base are located in Jaipur, while its corporate office, design, and sampling functions operate out of Mumbai. This dual-location strategy allows the company to achieve economies of scale in production while remaining closely connected to international design sensibilities.

All embroidery and value-added processes are carried out in-house, enabling tighter quality control and faster turnaround times. According to Jain, this integrated model has helped Manira Exports handle larger volumes without compromising on the finesse that handcrafted embroidery demands.

Comprehensive Product & Solution Offering

Manira Exports offers a wide spectrum of embroidery embellishments and fabric manipulations, ranging from metallic and abstract embroideries to surface printing and accessories. Beyond embroidered panels, the company provides end-to-end garment construction, including pattern-making and stitching, all done in-house.

Global brands can engage with Manira Exports in multiple ways—sourcing embroidered panels, complete garments, or accessories such as belts, bags, brooches, and trims. While clients may draw from Manira’s extensive design archive, the company also supports white-label development, offering design inputs when required. Jain describes the company as a “design-first manufacturer”, where creative collaboration is as important as execution.

Empowering Artisans Through Education

A defining pillar of Manira Exports is its close-knit artisan ecosystem. The company works with artisans primarily from Lucknow and Bareilly, many of whom relocate to Jaipur. Manira provides housing, sanitation, food, and a stable working environment, treating artisans as an extended family.

Notably, a significant number of these artisans were initially unskilled in global finishing standards. Over time, Manira invested heavily in their education—covering materials, techniques, and international quality expectations. Regular training and monthly design capsules ensure that artisans continuously adapt to evolving fashion cycles. Jain firmly believes that educating the artisan base is essential for long-term sustainability and competitiveness.

Ethical & Sustainable by Nature

Long before sustainability became a global buzzword, Manira Exports was already practicing ethical manufacturing. The company follows strict labour laws, provides education and welfare support, ensures fire and safety compliance, and maintains fair trade practices. It is also part of global compliance frameworks such as SEDEX.

On the materials front, Manira avoids animal-derived products, working instead with alternatives like mushroom leather, eucalyptus leather, and banana leather. Natural fibres and innovative substitutes replicate luxury aesthetics without compromising ethical values—a philosophy deeply influenced by the family’s Jain beliefs.

Growing Global Footprint & Future Vision

Manira Exports has been active in global markets for around five years, with strong presence in the UAE, South Africa, Indonesia, and the US, particularly New York. Premiere Vision Paris is now opening doors to Europe and the UK, offering the brand wider visibility and recognition.

Looking ahead, Jain envisions collaborating with top global luxury groups, bringing Indian artistry to the world’s most prestigious fashion houses. The long-term roadmap includes expanding capabilities, embracing new product categories, and even exploring a public listing within the next three to five years.

Manira Exports’ presence at Premiere Vision Paris reflects a larger shift—where Indian textile and embroidery expertise is no longer just outsourced, but proudly credited and celebrated. With its design-first approach, empowered artisans, ethical practices, and global outlook, Manira Exports is positioning itself as a modern ambassador of Indian craftsmanship. As Jain aptly puts it, the goal is clear: to see “Made in India” proudly worn on the global luxury stage, with Manira Exports leading the way.
