Headquartered in Punjab, leading yarn manufacturer, Ganga Acrowools Ltd is investing Rs 750 crore in a major expansion drive in the state. The investment includes Rs 53 crore investments in a paddy stubble-based boiler and turbine projects, which is expected to reduce the paddy stubble burning issue of Punjab farmers.

This was informed by Mr Sanjeev Arora, Punjab Minister for Industries & Commerce, while addressing a press conference. Mr Arora also stated that Ganga Acrowools has made consistent investments in Punjab and created over 3,000 jobs in the last few years alone.

Mr Amit Thapar, President Ganga Acrowools said the company had earlier committed an investment of Rs 302 crore at the Punjab Investor Summit. “However, we have now revised the investment to Rs 750 crore following the policy support and ease-of-doing-business measures extended by the government of Punjab,” Mr Thapar added.
