Omafil, a Turkish manufacturer of value added yarns and which supplies to manufacturers of socks, narrow fabrics, medical textiles and seamless textiles has inaugurated a new production plant which will produce 9,000 tons of POY and 3,000 tons of FDY yarn per annum. This plant is expected to create 300 new jobs in the Erbaa Organized Industrial Zone in Tokat.

“With the POY and FDY yarns we produce today, we aim not only to meet the needs of the domestic market but also to become a major player in global markets,” said Orhan Aydın, Chairman of the Board of Omafil.
“We will continue to work with all our might to elevate Turkish textiles to their rightful place through a value-added production approach,” Aydin added.
Omafil established its production facility in 2013 on a 9,000 sq. metres built up area to produce spun yarn blended with elastane. The company further announced plans to invest in a new plant in March 2021 over a built up area of 50,000 sq. metres.
“The textile sector in Turkey has a history of 130-140 years. We have succeeded in producing products like yarns, fabrics, garments, carpets, and home textiles and exporting them to the world. Last year, our total exports of ready-made garments, carpets, and home textiles reached nearly US $31 billion. This constitutes 11% of our total US $273.5 billion in goods exports,” Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat said at the inauguration.
