Ohio Pillow Factory: How Welspun is Redefining Sleep

Keyur Parekh, CEO & Whole Time Director of Global Business at Welspun Living

Wellness begins with a good night’s rest, and Welspun is reshaping the sleep experience — starting with pillows. With the launch of its first fully automated pillow manufacturing facility in Ohio, the company is strengthening its ambition to become a trusted “Sleep Solution Provider” in the United States.

The Ohio facility, capable of producing 13.5 million pillows annually, represents a seamless integration of technology and comfort. In a category long overdue for innovation, Welspun has introduced its patented Gx Suspension Pillow®, designed with built-in resistance bands to provide long-lasting loft and support. Often described as “the pillow that hugs you back,” this innovation is engineered to retain its shape and deliver restful sleep, night after night.

This development further expands Welspun’s U.S. footprint, complementing its established leadership in terry towels and bed linen. The new plant supports a broad portfolio of synthetic pillow fills, including fibre and cluster foam, catering to retail, hospitality, and e-commerce channels.

Adding to this momentum, Welspun has also unveiled “The Better Sleep Lab,” a 2,000 sq. ft. utility bedding showroom in New York. The Lab serves as a platform to showcase the company’s latest innovations, ranging from Hygrocotton temperature-regulating solutions to new licensed collections such as CocoCozy and Martha Stewart. With its focus on blending the science of sleep with luxury, the Lab thoughtfully addresses the evolving preferences of American consumers.

A Journey Rooted in Purpose

Reflecting on this milestone, Mr. Keyur Parekh, CEO Global & Whole Time Director, Welspun Living Limited, shared: “Anjar to Ohio — a journey rooted in purpose! When I look back at the past year of building our pillow manufacturing facility in Ohio, one thing stands out above all. What began as an ambitious plan quickly turned into a cross-border collaboration. From the deep operational discipline of Anjar to the factory floors in Ohio, this journey was powered with strategy and people — across functions, across time zones, across cultures.

It’s been a year of learning, adapting, and quietly delivering something meaningful — bringing agility closer to our customers, creating local impact, and staying rooted in the Welspun way. We are proud of what we’ve built and grateful for how we’ve built it.”
