Established in 1974, the company has steadily evolved over five decades to become one of India’s most respected manufacturers and exporters of home textiles. What began as a modest undertaking has today transformed into a global brand known for design excellence, sustainable practices and dependable partnerships.

In the run-up to Heimtextil 2026, we caught up with V. Ashok Ram Kumar, Managing Director, and M. Palanivel Rajan, President who shared insights on the company’s resilience in a challenging year, recent innovations, and what visitors can expect at the world’s largest home textiles trade fair.
Navigating an Uncertain Year
The year 2025 has been one of the most unpredictable for the textile industry, with global economic pressures, fluctuating demand and supply chain disruptions posing obstacles across markets.
Reflecting on Asian Fabricx’s performance during such a turbulent phase, Ashok Ram Kumar said: “Though 2025 was different in many aspects, it created a stronger need for collaboration and transparency across the supply chain. We are encouraged by how several brands extended their support and worked closely with us during this highly volatile period.”

Despite the challenges, the company remained steadfast, strengthening relationships with customers and refining its operational strategies.
Innovation as a Driving Force
Asian Fabricx has long been recognized for its innovation-led approach, continuously introducing products that combine functionality, aesthetic appeal and sustainability. Sharing the latest developments, Palanivel Rajan noted: “At Asian Fabricx, we place strong focus on product and design innovation backed by eco-friendly materials and high-quality craftsmanship. This has helped us build a strong reputation in international markets.”
In 2025, the company launched an exciting range of new products, such as recycled cotton products, recycled polyester shower curtains with enhanced water repellence, children’s blankets, and fitted sheets—all developed with an emphasis on both performance and environmental responsibility.
A Wide and Evolving Textile Portfolio
Asian Fabricx’s product offerings continue to expand, reflecting an understanding of global trends and customer needs. Elaborating on the company’s portfolio, Ashok Ram Kumar shared: “We specialize in kitchen and dining linens, window linens, shower curtains, bedspreads, cushions and cushion covers. Our major export markets encompass the EU, USA, and several other regions across the world.”

Modernization to Strengthen Capacity
To maintain its competitive edge, Asian Fabricx has accelerated modernization initiatives across its facilities. Investments have been directed toward backward integration, sustainable energy, and advanced machinery.
“The last year saw significant upgrades—yarn dyeing expansion, printing capacity enhancement, large-scale solar panel installations, and the transition to biomass boilers and heaters,” explained Ashok Ram Kumar, before adding, “Energy-efficient equipment and resource-saving projects are being prioritized. We have also implemented automation and digitalization across our manufacturing processes.”
Heimtextil 2026: A Showcase of Artistry, Sustainability & Emotion
Asian Fabricx is gearing up for Heimtextil 2026 with renewed vigor. This year, the company is unveiling a curated collection centered on the theme: “Sustainability in every aspect — Celebrating the artistry, motion, and emotion behind textiles.”

The showcase is built around various design stories – each reflecting a unique mood and aesthetic. From serene nature-inspired palettes to playful nostalgic elements, intricate floral detailing which showcases our products made with eco-friendly materials and advanced color technologies & upgraded printing capabilities
“Visitors can expect new textures, contemporary designs and value-added finishes. Our collections reflect global trends as well as our commitment to quality and responsible manufacturing,” said Ashok Ram Kumar.
Standing Out on the Global Stage
With competitors from more than 60 countries participating in Heimtextil, standing out is no small task. Yet, Asian Fabricx has earned consistent recognition among global buyers and long-term partners.
“Asian Fabricx is known as a trustworthy partner by many world-renowned brands. Our five-decade journey with major customers’ stands as proof of our consistent performance,” said Ashok Ram Kumar.
“Over 95% of our products are made using sustainable raw materials, supported by digital traceability and high material transparency, “he adds. The company’s in-house design studio and 3D design capabilities further enable it to develop new products in a matter of weeks—an agility highly valued in international markets.
Sustainability focus
Asian Fabricx has built a strong reputation for its sustainability-forward approach. Its manufacturing facilities and systems are certified under multiple international standards covering sustainability, quality and circularity.
“Around 25% of our production is made out of recycled raw materials. We follow global system standards from raw material purchase to final product delivery. Our initiatives toward plastic-free packaging have been especially appreciated by our customers,” highlighted Palanivel Rajan. He further added that during this year, the company has achieved many milestones which includes 95% reduction in GHG [Scope.1&2] emissions, around 20% reduction in freshwater intake, 94% compliance to ZDHC MRSL, etc.
Its strict adherence to internationally recognized safety and sustainability guidelines underscores the company’s dedication to responsible manufacturing.
Advanced Finishes & Eco-Friendly Treatments
Speaking about value-added finishing processes, Palanivel Rajan stated:“We ensure that all raw materials and chemicals used are free from harmful substances listed by statutory and regulatory agencies worldwide. Our products comply with OEKO-Tex standards, ZDHC, AFIRM and various customers’ protocols consistently. Our bio-based, eco-friendly finishes are designed to offer superior comfort and long-term safety.”
Asian Fabricx also adheres to stringent international testing protocols in their NABL [ISO:17025 complied] & customer Accredited Laboratory to ensure that every product meets the highest standards of consumer well-being.
FTAs: Opening New Opportunities
On India’s recent Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and their potential impact on the textile ecosystem, Ashok Ram Kumar shared: “FTAs with the UK, Australia, and Middle Eastern nations, along with expected agreements with the EU and New Zealand, will certainly open new opportunities. However, aligning with new regulatory requirements will take time.” He believes these agreements will strengthen India’s global competitiveness in the coming years.
Looking Ahead to a Brighter 2026
Despite the uncertainties of recent years, the leadership at Asian Fabricx remains positive about the road ahead. “There are clear signs of recovery. While normalcy may take some time, the opportunities for Indian textiles in 2026 and beyond are significant,” said Ashok Ram Kumar.
“Investments in technology, automation, infrastructure, design development and people will pave the way for strong growth,” he added.
