Adwaith Lakshmi, one of India’s most respected names in premium home textiles, is preparing to make a bold statement at Heimtextil 2026. Part of the Adwaith Lakshmi Group, the company has long been a trusted supplier of high-quality bath, kitchen textiles and institutional textiles. Now, with a sharpened focus on sustainability, value-added finishes and new product categories, the company is setting the stage for an impactful presence at the world’s largest home textile fair.

In an exclusive interaction, Ravi Sam, Managing Director, shared insights into the company’s performance, challenges, and its strategic roadmap for the future. Challenging year, but customer faith remains strong
Reflecting on the industry’s performance in 2025, Ravi Sam noted that volatility defined the year for most textile manufacturers. However, Adwaith Lakshmi managed to maintain stability in one crucial area — customer loyalty.
“2025 has been a dynamic year for the entire industry, but we have been fortunate in one sense — our customers have remained consistent,” he said. “Our customers conveyed a fabulous message to us, that the business relationship is not transactional, and it is value based, with mutual understanding”- This is a Great thing, that we cherish and we are thankful to our customers.
While demand remained steady, there are some external impediments, which slowed the progress of some new projects, that were about to take off. But we are hoping that, there could be betterment in the fourth quarter, as we see some positive developments happening.

Preparing for a new regulatory landscape
A key factor shaping the company’s strategy is the anticipated shift in global trade regulations, especially the FTAs (Free Trade Agreements) with UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other BTAs (Bilateral trade agreements).
According to Ravi Sam, 2025 did had a focus on strengthening the core range of products, and the company has consciously invested in future-ready capabilities. “Our focus is shifting, as we anticipate the changes that will come with the Europe FTA and the non-tariff barriers. The sustainability will be taken to the next level and customers will expect, products, solutions, that, will become critical as these regulations evolve,” he explained.
Once, the newly signed FTAs, BTA’s become, functional then, we anticipate a positive sentiment shift in the market. This will enable the sourcing managers to plan the supply chain very effectively and in turn will helps us plan better,” he said.
Adwaith Lakshmi’s new processing unit, has become a center for innovation. The plant is sustainable in every aspect, from the usage of recycled water, usage of sustainable source of energy, energy management, eco-friendly process. The team are actively working on developing new finishes, sustainable functional products for the ever demanding market need.
A strong portfolio: Bath, Home and Medical Textiles
Adwaith Lakshmi has traditionally excelled in home textiles, especially bath products. The company recently entered the medical textiles segment, and are ambitious to invest, diversify into that. This segment is completely based on performance orientation with stringent test standards, procedures, so that it can be used in the critical care units. The processes are completely validated by US, European standards.

This segment is highly challenging, as the compliance requirements are absolutely high along with the product standard. Thanks to our customers, who wanted to diversify and strengthen the existing vendors, with different category of products.
Despite challenges, the company remains committed to diversifying its range with quality, innovation and sustainability at the core.
Global market footprint
The United States continues to be one of the largest and most strategic market. “For any major or growing company in home textiles, the US remains the most important market,” he said. “American customers value our quality, integrity and stable business environment.”
Growing trade dialogues with Europe, the UK, are also drawing the company’s attention. “We hope these agreements will conclude successfully. While we focus on the US, we also plan to expand into new geographies. Africa is an emerging market too, though we haven’t explored it deeply yet, but we have a foot print.”
Capacity expansions: A strategic pause with selective growth
Despite market challenges, the company is moving ahead with expansion in processing. Weaving to follow in few months. He feels, investments in high efficiency textile processing are essential and cannot be delayed,” he emphasized.

What to expect at Heimtextil 2026
The company is gearing up to showcase an exciting mix of innovation, craftsmanship and sustainable materials at Heimtextil 2026. “Traditionally, we have been strong in hospitality and institutional segments. This year, we are focusing more on the retail segment — new finishes, washes, and value-added products,” said Ravi Sam.
A highlight at the booth will be the revival of ‘Jamakanas’ “Virippu”, a traditional hand-woven craft, made with a touch of contemporary design, and finished for modern day usage, to help the traditional weavers of the country to get upliftment.
Another central theme at the show will be sustainability. The company will highlight ‘Kasturi Cotton’, an indigenous, contamination-free, traceable cotton variety. “Kasturi cotton has immense potential. With stronger branding, it could redefine the perception of Indian cotton globally,” he said.
Competitive edge

When asked how Adwaith Lakshmi plans to stand out at a global event such as Heimtextil, Ravi Sam was clear. “Our strength lies in quality, service, integrity and competitive pricing. Once the FTAs, BTAs come into force, we will be in a stronger position than neighboring countries, that currently enjoy tariff advantages.”
Sustainability to the fore
Sustainability has long been a defining feature of the company’s operations — from the use of green energy to eco-friendly fibers and advanced wastewater treatment systems, including five-stage RO and ZLD technologies.
“Sustainability is a major focus for us,” he said. “We are exploring pre-processed yarns, regenerative recycling of used towels, anti-microbial towels, and bio-based or performance-enhancing finishes.”
Positive outlook for 2026 and beyond
The company is optimistic about the future, especially with multiple FTAs expected to come into force.
“If the FTAs materialize and the US tariff situation stabilizes — and we believe — the home textile industry will see strong growth. There is huge headroom in the US and untapped potential in the UK, EU. The company plans to enter 2026 with more high-value products and a strengthened market presence. “Once these agreements come through, there will be no stopping the industry,” he said with optimism.
