For anyone familiar with Karur’s thriving textile ecosystem, Shobikaa Impex Private Limited (SIPL) is a name that commands instant recognition. Known for its state-of-the-art manufacturing units and vertically integrated operations, the company has steadily evolved into one of the most promising names emerging from the cluster. Now, it is preparing to take a major leap as it showcases its home textiles portfolio at Heimtextil 2026, marking a significant chapter in its growth story.

In an exclusive conversation, Sivaharrish Sivasamy, the company’s young and forward-thinking Director, shared insights into SIPL’s evolution, its foray into home textiles, and its ambitions as it heads toward one of the world’s premier textile exhibitions.
A fully integrated foundation
SIPL’s roots lie firmly in technical textiles and sustainability-driven manufacturing. Recounting the company’s origins, Sivaharrish said: “We began as manufacturers of long-lasting insecticidal nets. Over time, we expanded into recycled polyester yarn, fabrics, and garments. Today, it’s a fully vertical setup—starting all the way from the collection of bottles to the final garment.”

The company’s early infrastructure was built around recycled polyester. Describing this journey, he added: “The expansion was initially planned for a recycled yarn plant producing FDY, POY, and DTY. Following this, we expanded into warp knitting, circular knitting, dyeing, and polar fleece. Since garmenting was already part of our operations, the goal of these expansions was to evolve into a fully vertical setup.”
This evolution also includes a specialized polar fleece unit with raising, combing, and shearing capabilities—an investment that later helped SIPL transition naturally into the home textiles domain.
Entering home textiles
SIPL entered the home textiles segment in 2024, identifying a strategic opportunity in the global demand for sustainable polyester-based home products.

“We decided to explore China for fur fabrics. Since fur blankets are made from polyester and warp knitted, both areas matched our existing expertise. Warp knitting specialists are rare in India, so this gave us a strong advantage,” Sivaharrish explained.
Following this, SIPL strengthened its infrastructure with additional machinery and technical exposure for its teams. Today, the company’s home textiles portfolio comprises fur blankets, polar fleece blankets, and pillows—the latter manufactured through SIPL’s in-house stuffing and stitching capabilities in its garmenting unit.
Showcasing strength at Heimtextil 2026
The company is gearing up to present its complete range at Heimtextil 2026, a move that marks SIPL’s formal debut on the global home textiles stage. “We have also developed capabilities to produce carpets. So at Heimtextil, we will be showcasing fur blankets, polar fleece, pillows, and carpets to test the waters in this category,” he revealed.

To SIPL, the show is not just a marketing opportunity but a chance to expand into global markets seeking innovation backed by sustainable manufacturing.
Sustainability as a differentiator
When asked what sets SIPL apart in a highly competitive market, Sivaharrish immediately pointed to compliance and sustainability—areas in which the company has made heavy investments.
“Brands today are extremely strict about sustainability. They expect full compliance, and we have it. We are certified with GRS, Oeko-Tex, and Ocean Bound Plastics. Our effluent treatment is ZLD-based,” he said. The company has also undertaken Lifecycle Analysis (LCA) to measure green energy consumption, blue water usage, and overall resource conservation.
A key strength is SIPL’s renewable energy initiative. “We have our own wind energy plant at Kayathar, though it doesn’t fully cover our requirements. Some top global brands require complete green energy, so we also engage in power purchase. Our boilers run 100% on biomass. Ultimately, we want to be a one-stop sustainability hub,” he added.
Special finishes for global markets
Innovation in finishes has become a priority for the company, especially as markets like Europe and the U.S. demand enhanced feel and performance.
“Aesthetics and feel are crucial today. For our fur blankets, we use polishing, airflow, and specialized dyeing. For polar fleece, we have a process that boosts the anti-wicking characteristics,” he said.
These value-added processes help SIPL differentiate its offerings in segments where quality perception is key.
FTAs and export opportunities
Sivaharrish is optimistic about the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that India has been signing with various countries. “We’re already getting interest from UK brands. That’s one reason we’re taking Heimtextil 2026 seriously. While US tariffs have affected the industry, we believe the issue will get resolved soon. Meanwhile, we are looking aggressively at other markets,” he said.
SIPL is targeting two customer groups: top luxury home textile brands and large-scale wholesale retailers, both of which value the company’s integrated, compliant, and technologically strong ecosystem.
A promising future
Reflecting on the company’s journey into home textiles, Sivaharrish said: “Initially, I believed the home textiles segment was saturated. But I realized there is strong demand for companies with sustainability and technical expertise. These customers are coming to SIPL. We are taking steady steps, and the future looks promising.”
With the possibility of tariff resolutions and the rising global focus on recycled textiles, he believes the industry is on the cusp of a growth cycle.
Invite to Heimtextil 2026
SIPL is ready to unveil its capabilities at the prestigious fair. “Visitors can find us at Hall 8.0, Booth M43 at Heimtextil 2026. Our team will be there to show why our products are the right fit for their requirements,” Sivaharrish concluded.
As SIPL steps onto the global platform, it brings with it the strength of vertical integration, deep technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to sustainable innovation—qualities that promise to make its Heimtextil debut a memorable one.
